The switch to DAB+ for talkRADIO and talkSPORT 2 was announced by the station in June 2020. A message on talkRADIO advises listeners to re-tune to talkRADIO +. The change to DAB+ will enable the owners of talkRADIO to launch Times Radio this month.

DAB+ (sometimes called DAB plus) is a newer version of DAB and has been used in some European countries for some time. A radio which can only receive DAB will not be able to receive DAB+ stations.

The national radio stations are the latest to switch to the newer DAB+ format. Not all DAB digital radios can receive DAB+ stations and some listeners may find that they can no longer receive the stations.

The talk radio station has announced other changes to its schedule, which sees mid-morning host Julia Hartley-Brewer moves to Breakfast. The new breakfast show starts at 6.30am, after James Max’s new early breakfast show.

The station started with a talkRADIO survey which found that the average person in Britain doesn’t believe they are in debt until they owe £45,000 and heard from listeners about debt and difficulty purchasing a home in the South East.
