The title used in the series is the same font style as the film. The plot itself was designed to follow the events of the first movie. Events of the film are referenced, such as the teen characters finishing their educations in a university after graduation high school, Peter trying to rekindle his relationship with Mary-Jane, and most importantly Harry Osborn accusing Spider-Man of the murder of his fatherduring the film's climax.
