The idea of a superhero fighting crime was utterly unbelievable and severely cliché. I had prided Miami Vice on its authenticity and this was nothing short of illusory. The episode begins with Miracle Man, played by the phenomenal Jose Perez, thwarting a drug deal between the undercover Tubbs and Switek and a couple of Hispanic drug dealers.
Crockett's absense in Borrasca, minimal appearances in the likes of Miracle Man, Heart of Night, and The Cell Within along with the separate Tubb and Crockett stories in To Have and to Hold all depicted a change in the status quo. Castillo is also absent in quite a few of the latter S5 episodes (perhaps explained by his shooting in Miami Squeeze).
