Cons: The town of Loughborough. Its really awful. Also if you want a really big club night out you need to go to Notts really. However, it is a really good university and for sport its great, depends what you're looking for I guess.

No, Loughborough is not a 'bad' university. It's always been pretty good, but has increased in stature a bit in the last few years. Not bad for certain subjects (e.g. engineering). Clasically also very good if you like sport. On the negative side, the town's a bit ****.
It's a nice little city while Loughborough is a bit in the middle of nowhere, I thought that campus felt nicer, the accommodation for first years was nicer and at the time was more reasonably priced, and to me Loughborough felt far too focussed on sport and it seemed like the academic side of the University wasn't up to scratch, and that it's league table rankings were being dragged up ...

14. My thoughts about Loughborough: - great student union. Lots to do and get involved with if you want. - There are also enough people/committees looking out for you academically and otherwise. - good sports - but you don't have to get involved if you don't want to - most people I know don't.
