Woyzeck [ˈvɔʏtsɛk] is a 1979 German drama film written, produced and directed by Werner Herzog and starring Klaus Kinski and Eva Mattes. It is an adaptation of the unfinished play Woyzeck by German dramatist Georg Büchner.
Having fathered an illegitimate child with his lover, Marie (Eva Mattes), feckless soldier Franz Woyzeck (Klaus Kinski) takes odd jobs around his small town to provide some extra money for them.

Woyzeck: Directed by Werner Herzog. With Klaus Kinski, Eva Mattes, Wolfgang Reichmann, Willy Semmelrogge. Franz Woyzeck is a hapless, hopeless soldier, alone and powerless in society, assaulted from all sides by forces he can not control.
Mar 18, 2016 · Right up to the murder sequence, Woyzeck is arguably the most ‘classical’ of Herzog’s films, with long takes of two-three minutes filmed in frontal mid-shot, the camera moving with characters or their vantage point, soon returning to relative visual stability.
