In 2005 John portrayed John Forsythe in Dynasty: The Making of a Guilty Pleasure, a fictionalized television movie based on the creation and behind the scenes production of the 1980s prime time soap opera Dynasty.
John Forsythe is the only actor to appear in all 220 episodes. Heather Locklear was a regular in season two, and left towards the end of the season to join T.J. Hooker (1982). She continued to make occasional appearances on this show, and rejoined as a full-time regular in season six.
