Aug 12, 2007 · Shearer is a legend and his analysis on the game is okay as far as I'm concerned. The point of Shearer is that he's not Mark Lawrenson. And thats just about enough. He is monotone and boring and just because he was a good footballer doesn't mean he knows anything worthwhile.

Clearly it's "uncool" to say the BBC did a good job but Alan Shearer et al came across as pretty honest to me, with Shearer saying the better team won. And Juan Mata of Spain was one of their pundits too.

Well Andy Gray was the main pundit, in the commentary box, sometimes during the build-up on Super Sunday and of course Monday Night Football (until they lost the rights to Setanta and he promptly got 'The Last Word' on a Sunday).
