Dec 18, 2005. #3. well the verb adore is mostly used to tell to a friend that he's a good friend . in french you hardly ever use " adore" to tell to your boy/girlfriend that you love her/him. i love you means je t'aime. i love you so much means je t'aime beaucoup. i love you to death means je t'aime a la folie.
Feb 28, 2023 · To me, "j'adorais cette vidéo" suggests a description of how you felt about that video during some period in the past: back then, I loved this video. "J'ai adoré cette vidéo" describes your reaction to viewing the video as a completed action. The same could be said of other verbs of preference: aimer, préférer, plaire, etc.

Feb 4, 2015 · The issue arose after that from claims that 'adore' is absolute (Cenz and Loob), does not permit degrees, and so on. In my opinion, supported by some literate users, the verb and noun, with proper phrasing (different from the first post), permit ancillary qualifiers associated with degree.
May 30, 2011 · When another character says "J'adore la peinture", Mother Superior answers "On adore que Dieu". Similarly, when she says "une vieille dame fatiguée par les allées et venues de la police à cause de son petit fils délinquant qu'elle adore", Mother Superior will say "On adore que Dieu".

All the more so that she is, after all, a woman. And "adore" can be seen as a more formal word than "love" and "like", I think.

"Te quiero" is equivalent to "I love you", with its own set of nuances. "Te amo" is a deep love. It is not a phrase that is commonly used.

"worship what you have desired, desire what you have worshipped". In this context, I mean the religious one, "worship" might be better than "adore".
