  6. Aug 1, 2021 · Masking sleep.target, suspend.target etc. using systemctl does do the job, but know that systemd-logind will still try to call sleep.target (or which ever)! @Djizeus reports that this resulted in an indefinite CPU usage of 70-100% after closing the lid.

  7. ===> just got the new 6.10.3-061003-generic kernel and it DOES suspend/resume AND seems to be leaving my PCI wifi alone (hibernate doesn't work, but I think I have to change the format from 20.04 to 24.04 requirements...). only thing is, once booted, and only on the 1st suspend, the resume takes about 3-5 minutes ~ but all suspends after that resume in only a few seconds.

  8. Nov 5, 2023 · Thank you for your help. After following your suggestions, `deep' remains as the default suspend mode (instead of s2idle) even after restart. But my laptop still cannot wake up from deep sleep. When trying to wake it, the keyboard backlight turns on and I can hear the fans but the screen remains black; reboot is the only option I can see.

  9. The system seems to start entering the suspend mode but returns back immediately. I'm running Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS (GNU/Linux 4.13.0-38-generic x86_64). Are there any details, that would help to find the root cause of the problem (dmesg output, /var/log/syslog, ...)? Thanks in advance, Bernd

I don't want the pc to suspend ever, not even on lockscreen, the screen can turn off but the pc should not suspend/hibernate since it won't wake up again. Specs: OS: Ubuntu noble 24.04 x86_64; Kernel: 6.8.0-31-generic; CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X (16) GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT
