We are a couple in our 50s (53 and 58) and have had investments with SJP for about 15 years. They manage my husbands pension (value of about £150k) and ISA worth about £70k.

May 25, 2018 · I am looking for a bit of advice on fund management. I am currently with St. James's Place, but they take 4% upfront on any investments, and there's a management fee of 2% plus an exit fee for first 6 years. After the 6 year period is up, I am thinking about moving this money, and investing more.

Feb 6, 2024 · On your other thread you said " Our costs are 1.78% pa sometimes a little more due to transaction charges." I responded with " I have just finished a review where the ongoing cost is 0.82% p.a.". Plus, that person many years ago had a 1% initial charge whereas SJP charge would have been 5%.
Jul 18, 2018 · I am completely new to investment so the advice and management on offer is appealing, However, after Googling St James' Place I now find myself worried. Here is what was advised; I contribute regularly to their "International Investment Plan". The fees would be between 2.2-2.7% per annum with no initial charges.

I have pension and investment with SJP. i asked my advisor if i should be worried. he said "Simple answer is no. SJP’s share price and where your funds are invested are two very different things." Will I get any compensation re high fees.
