  1. Jun 28, 2013 · The bacteria, Bordetella bronchiseptica,is the most common cause of respiratory disease in guinea pigs. Rabbits, as well as cats and dogs, can carry this bacteria which can be passed to guinea pigs and cause disease. Therefore, due to the risk of infection, guinea pigs should not be housed with rabbits, and should be kept away from dogs and cats.

  2. Sep 1, 2012 · Sep 1, 2012. #3. Pine is safe, it's what i think all hutches are made out of. In the UK we mainly have two types, Whitewood and Redwood (both pine), red being the better and stronger one. Plywood is fine too, try a timber merchant for cheaper prices and better quality timber.

  3. Sep 16, 2009 · New Kit. I have been giving my rabbits and guinea pigs clover - not so much the flowers but the leaves as we have an abundance of it to say the least. I have been doing this for a while now but read recently that it may not be good for them. It is the white species. Any ideas gratefully received.

  4. Jul 15, 2012 · I've known someone to loose a whole herd of pigs within 48 hours due to keeping rabbits and guinea pigs in the same airspace (they weren't even housed together, just in the same shed) and the only way to know for certain is to do a necropsy.

Listed are Apple, Crab Apple, Damson, Hazel, Pear, Quince and Willow. It's interesting your observation regarding the Medirabbit site, which shows rabbits eating Beech, but doesn't include it in their list of safe trees.

  6. Sep 24, 2009 · I think female guinea pigs can be sexually mature from 4-6 weeks of age. Males can be earlier at 3-5 weeks. That said I guess there could be a possibility that both females are pregnant but that would mean both would've had to of been fertile as early as poss which seems very unlucky. I think there is a good change the older female is tho.

  7. Nov 18, 2021 · My guinea-pigs are outside in the summer but inside at the moment in a fenced off area of a bedroom. Just given them some dandelion leaves as they definitely can't forage for themselves. When I had my bridge tripod bun I moved her and her partner indoors and John never said anything against it.

  8. Mar 2, 2011 · Hi, just made myself an account to ask this haha. But I have a rex and applied this stuff to her earlier on today (probably about 5 hours ago or so) she's a house bun and rarely goes outside so I spent the best part of 3 hours spraying everything/washing all my clothes e.t.c so i know everything is decontaminated, I even steamed all her toys, however I just went in to check on her and it doesn ...

  9. Feb 27, 2010 · Mar 1, 2010. #10. yup usually they should eat about their size (not weight) in hay a day. a 1kg packet of hay would last my four (2 dwarf lops & two neddies) about 2 days so probably around 4 days for two bunnies. I go through a bale in about 2 weeks as buying by the kilo is too expensive.

  10. Apr 26, 2011 · Does anyone know I have searched the Internet but can only find out about the seeds. Since I switch to flax bedding I get loads of flax plants growing in the beds from my homemade compost, they are pretty so that's ok but are they safe to eat :? Thank you :)
