Sep 28, 2017 · I abandoned NatWest in the 1990's when they were still insisting you needed to use IE with ActiveX controls to access online banking as other browsers "weren't secure". To be honest, working in IT back then, I was hardly the front-runner of new technology in everyday life anyway, but I just moved to a bank that had a vague understanding of what SSL actually did.
Feb 19, 2024 · It's primitive not to refund via bank transfer since VM charges us that way - I can only think it is to cause friction in the leaving process - similar to the attempts to add extra charges to the bill. Appalling behaviour, glad OFCOM is investigating... I suspect it's more to do with internal security within VM.

I choose how much I want to pay, select the card and put in my security number, then it gets to the confirm in the banking app page and the button to click that I've confirmed it in my banking app is hidden. I've never had it on any other website.
Sep 8, 2017 · Natwest used to do this. Which is even worse, as one minute you'd be on a Natwest domain, and the next an RBS one. Which could be just incredibly confusing if you don't realise they're the same banking group - and is just a stupid thing to do if you want to encourage customers to watch out for security.
