Ian Fleming was an Australian character actor who appeared in over 100 British films, including Sherlock Holmes and The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp. He also acted on stage and television, and was not related to the James Bond author of the same name.
Fleming spent the rest of his life writing and traveling the world, but as his Bond character reached new heights of popularity on movie screens, Fleming was in ailing health.
