DV8 Physical Theatre (or Dance and Video 8) was a physical theatre company based at Artsadmin in London, United Kingdom. It was officially founded in 1986 by Lloyd Newson (1986–2015), Michelle Richecoeur (1986–1988) and Nigel Charnock (1986–1989, 1992).
DV8’s award winning films (Dead Dreams of Monochrome Men, Strange Fish, Enter Achilles and The Cost of Living) are now available via Digital Theatre and Digital Theatre Plus. DV8’s Archive materials from the 1980s onwards are available at the Theatre Collection, University of Bristol.

Led by choreographer and Artistic Director Lloyd Newson since its inception, DV8 Physical Theatre was formed in 1986 by a group of independent dancers who had become frustrated and disillusioned with the preoccupations and direction of (most) contemporary dance.
DV8 are well known for using Physical theatre to explore complex aspects of human relationships and social or cultural issues.
DV8 Physical Theatre’s work is about taking risks, aesthetically and physically, about breaking down the barriers between dance, theatre and personal politics and, above all, communicating ideas and feelings clearly and unpretentiously.
