May 12, 2021 · 8kW (4kW WNW, 4kW SSE) 6kW inverter. 6.5kWh battery. We replaced a plastic conservatory roof with a properly insulated (130mm of cellotex) warm flat roof. It cost about £1000 to DIY but it was a relatively simple job because there were already structural walls at both sides.
Oct 22, 2021 · Hudsonbutler Posts: 50 Forumite. Our conservatory is 9m x 3m roughly, we had a guardian roof with metal tiles. Ours also had a double glazed roof. Yes you lose a bit of light, but you gain in summer as we are south west facing, it was a lot cooler. In winter it holds the warmth. We have not looked back.

Apr 5, 2013 · Putting a lightweight replacement roof on a conservatory may run counter to these principles. One option of roof tile used is approved for pitches from 10 degrees upwards - the tiles have an interlocking system that prevents ingress of water being blown under the tiles in adverse weather conditions.

The roof will cost typically £2000. The salesman will want a commission trying for £1000. Add the VAT and you have a ball park figure of £7200.
Dec 25, 2020 · Cannot describe the difference it has made. Cheapest qoute was £2600 ( small 12m2) researched You Tube and did an excellent job (imo) myself for £220. I am looking at replacing the roof on our 23 year old Victorian Conservatory. The size is 3.5m x 2.5m. I have no idea about costing or best replacement idea.
Oct 23, 2021 · We don't have an extreme climate in the West Country, but when we had harsh weather a few years ago and -6c outside, I worked in our glass roofed conservatory all day at around 19c with only the 5Kw wood burner in the adjoining room heating it.
Aug 29, 2020 · Solid conservatory roof opinions / experiences. We are looking at getting our south facing conservatory roof replaced with an insulated and tiled roof. The conservatory is approx 6m across x 3m projection, so very large. It is unbearably hot in summer and we expect it will be cold in winter (only just bought the house so not experienced this yet).
Aug 10, 2022 · Even with a lightweight insulated roof, you will not meet the minimum requirements. Extending the main central heating to add a radiator in the conservatory opens the same can of worms. If/when you come to sell the property, if the door has been removed, there is a very good chance the surveyor would down value his/her valuation and solicitors could ask some rather awkward questions.
