  1. Oct 22, 2017 · Boots Opticians Rip Off. HeyBigSpender Posts: 114Forumite. 22 October 2017 at 6:39PM in Praise, vent & warnings. I needed new glasses urgently, and went to my nearest Boots opticians because my usual place had a waiting list. They did all the usual checks. I explained how I was worried about my worsening night vision to the optometrist, so he ...

  2. Jun 20, 2016 · 1. The lenses are scratch resistant and not scratch proof. 2. It is down to normal wear and tear (I wear contact lenses 5 days out of 7) 3. They can send it off for inspection but it is unlikely they will fix it. Not once did he actually suggest ways of getting the lens repaired or how much it would cost.

  3. Nov 17, 2012 · The small Opticians wanted over £300.00 for new frames and lenses_pale_ . This was a no no so I decided to hunt round. The two other Opticians in my town are Boots and Specsavers. Boots wanted £205.00 for the same glasses whilst Specsavers wanted £165.00 for the same thing. Now whilst at first glance the Specsavers glasses look a bargain I ...

  5. Feb 6, 2011 · You know, I got my eyes tested at Boots this week with the £5 deal that they're currently offering, and they told me that it would work out cheaper to buy a brand new pair of glasses (obviously from them!) than reglazing my current ones. When I queried how much it would cost for Boots to reglaze them they quoted me an astonishing £80!!

  7. Sep 11, 2016 · Boots Opticians. I recently had an eye test and needed 3 new single lens spectacles. I brought to Boots my quality, 2-year old frames in excellent condition, including a favourite Givenchy frame, and asked Boots to reglaze my own frames. Incidentally, these frames were purchased at Boots. The technician was adamant that it will be much cheaper ...

  8. In Boots Opticians they do the following lenses for short sighted people: Standard lenses (free) Thin and light (£50) Super thin (£110) Ultra super thin (£190?) Does anyone know what lens index each one of these levels relates to? E.g. 1.5, 1.6, 1.67 etc? Thanks

  9. Posts: 551. I've changed from Specsavers to Boots and back again (because of availability of retinopathy testing ), without telling the one I was leaving. I think they can request your details from a previous optician, as records are electronically stored, nowadays. If your problem is straightforward long or short sight, they don't even need ...

  10. Feb 1, 2011 · At the end of the day if you weren't happy with the price in Boots you shouldn't have agreed to purchase at that price. The legal position is that you dont have a right to cancel at all, that Boots will let you within 1 hour will be there policy as opposed to an entitlement. The fact that the same or at least a similar product is available ...
