Nov 7, 2007 · Theoretically, they are not selling something that is free after they have burned the files to CDs ... they are really selling their service of putting the files on CDs... which is of great help to folks who prefer to listen to books on CD instead of on mp3 .... besides, they aren't really making any money doing it... probably only covering the cost of the discs and barely anything for their time.
Feb 14, 2019 · I have so far uploaded more than 5000 books, all with chapter selection, full description, attribution and links the original LibriVox page. I have a HTPC that encodes the videos as a background task and it can typically do around 10-20 books in a day. Slowly catching up to the total amount of available books on the site.
I am making, as a Christmas present for my wife (she doesn't read these forums), an easy-to-use LibriVox audio book downloader for her new Kindle Fire. An early version is here. Still to be implemented: searching, format selection (currently set to download ogg files; these work great with the Mortplayer Audio Book player).

3) I am sorry but this number is not really correct. We have solo projects and group projects that both count as 1 book; but we also have collections where each entry counts as one. For example, if one of our "non-fiction collections" has 20 entries, then this counts as 20 books.
