The intrusive Kushite burials on el-Khokha were deposed in newly cut shaft tombs. This kind of shaft usually has a square opening and their depth varies between 2.5 and 4m. It seems as if there was a preference to position these intrusive shafts in the axial halls of the New Kingdom tomb chapels.
