YouTube Kids, YouTube & your child's Google Account When you use Family Link to create a Google Account for your child under 13, your child can use the YouTube Kids app where it’s available . However, they can't use any other YouTube apps, websites, or features until they turn 13 and manage their own Google Account.

Under "YouTube Kids Settings," select EDIT next to “Content Settings.” Note: If you want to change their content setting to Approve content yourself, you have to use the YouTube Kids app to make this change. If you manage your child’s Google Account with Family Link, you can also change their content level setting from the Family Link app:

Select Set up YouTube Kids. Select Set up guest account. Follow the steps on the screen to create a YouTube Kids profile that you can use while signed out. Once you've followed these steps, there will be a YouTube Kids profile option when you're on the accounts page or the 'Who's watching?' screen.
You can change these settings at any time from Parent Settings in YouTube Kids or from your linked parent account’s Family Center. To change the settings for your child’s profile from YouTube Kids: Select the Lock in the corner of your screen. Complete the multiplication problem or enter your custom passcode. Select Settings .
