German director Yasemin Samdereli’s first feature length documentary, The Night of all Nights, aims to get to the root of these seemingly unanswerable questions. Samdereli follows four international couples who have been together for more than 50 years.
The film of Yasemin and Nesrin Samdereli portrays five couples from Germany, Turkey, India, USA and Brazil. All of them have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary together. Married couples who “made it” and accomplished something that today seems almost impossible: Staying together for a lifetime, in good times and in bad.

Biography. Yasemin Şamdereli was born in Dortmund on July 15 1973. From 1993 until 2000, she studied at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen (HFF) in Munich. During that time, she worked freelance at Bavaria-Film and as an assistant director on international film productions.
