World War Z – A review. TL;DR: World War Z is a well-constructed movie. All of the beats are in place, the stakes are clear and the fluid transitions from plot point to plot point work in an effective and engaging manner. Aside from that very dry summary, I found a lot to like about World War Z.
Yes, the movie is totally worth watching, especially if you like zombies. I'd say that the book informs the movie, but they are not directly related. The book is written as a history book based on interviews with multiple characters who lived through World War Z.
"World War Z" stands out as one of the best zombie movies due to its intense action, global scale, and strong performance by Brad Pitt. The film combines smart storytelling with impressive visual effects and maintains a high level of tension and suspense throughout.

I know this film gets hated on because it is not the book, and the book is great (and of course, like everyone always says, would make for the perfect HBO anthology series), but if you take a step back from the book and just view the movie as a movie, it's actually pretty solid.
