   There was a lot of controversy with World War Z centered around fans of the book hating it as well as reshoots/recuts, but as a thrill ride and theatrical experience I loved it. Like I Am Legend, the zombies looked way too cg, but I can forgive that given how many thousands of zombies they showed.

I know this film gets hated on because it is not the book, and the book is great (and of course, like everyone always says, would make for the perfect HBO anthology series), but if you take a step back from the book and just view the movie as a movie, it's actually pretty solid.

   Is World War Z worth a read?

   • It was biased off the book "The Good War" which was an overview of the World War 2, pieced together from first person accounts of the battles/events. Both books are worth a read. I respect World War Z, because I understand what hell its production was, and yet it was super successful in the box office.

   • A good zombie movie, bad WWZ movie. The book is great and no question its a terrible adaptation. The movie has some nice tension momemts, however the revelation of the film is still dumb. You telling me it took them this long to figure it out?

   Do zombie movies feel like a global war?

   • It really does feel like a global war, and the zombies, with their almost hive-mind swarm tactics, are actually pretty scary and offer a new take on an old idea. With zombie movies, in the back of your mind, you're always kinda wondering how the governments and armies of the world couldn't defeat a few shamblers with the munchies. Not here.
