Wimbledon Station (District Line, South Western Railway, and London Trams) – 20 mins walk to the Grounds. Wimbledon Park Station (District Line) – 25 mins walk to the Grounds. A dedicated Championships bus service runs from Wimbledon Station to the Grounds.
Wimbledon has been held since 1877 and is played on outdoor grass courts with retractable roofs over the two main courts since 2019. It is the only major still played on grass, the traditional tennis playing surface.
