    Esteban Vihaio is a supporting antagonist in Kill Bill: Volume 2, the second and final installment of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill duology. He is an 80 year old Mexican pimp based in the border city of Ciudad Acuña who, as a friend of Bill and Budd's mother, was seen by the latter as a father figure. His prostitutes' illegitimate children are apparently recruited into an organized crime gang called the Acuña Boys, of which Esteban is the de facto leader.

    He was portrayed by the late Michael Parks, who also played Earl McGraw in Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Death Proof.

    When Beatrix Kiddo visits him, Esteban compliments her upon her beauty. He further says that if he had known her when he was in business, she would have been his "Number One Lady".   3. Esteban is Bill's father, and the interaction here is QT basically telling us what Bill's worldview and moral compass is like. Bill didn't just try to kill Beatrix in an emotional fit as a scorned lover. He's an evil guy who meant to kill a pregnant woman in cold blood, and did kill 9 other innocent people in a church.

    • At one point, stunt and fight choreographer Woo-ping Yuen was set to play Pai Mei, but could not fit it in with his choreography duties. He suggested Quentin Tarantino play the part.
    • Tarantino then considered having Liu (pictured) speak Cantonese and that he (Tarantino), would provide the English over the top, imitating a bad dub job.
    • Robert Rodriguez scored this movie for $1. Tarantino said he would repay him by directing a segment of Rodriguez's Sin City for $1. The end credits play out to a rock and roll version of "Malagueña Salerosa", a traditional Mexican song, performed by "Chingon", Robert Rodriguez's band.
    • When the first grade teacher (pictured, top) takes roll, she calls out one real-life name: Marty Kitrosser. Martin Kitrosser has served as script supervisor on all of Tarantino's films.
  4. "Kill Bill Vol. 2" is slow-moving, and needs "Vol. 1" in a way few sequels do, since it assumes you know nearly all the characters coming in. That's a weakness. So are some undeniably pointless bits, including the entire sequence with Bill's father figure, Esteban Vihaio, and some business at a bar involving Michael Madsen, who plays a former assassin now gone to seed.
