  3. Bridport Museum will be free to visit this week - Tuesday 10 September to Saturday 14 September. Our opening hours are 10am to 4pm. Come along to enjoy the museum, guided historic walks of the town and ropemaking.

  4. May 20, 2021 · Bridport Museum reopened its doors on Monday with a brand-new exhibition which asks visitors what they value about the museum and its collection.

  5. Redevelopment of Bridport Museum. In 2016, the Bridport Museum underwent a significant redevelopment costing £1.3 million. The museum reopened in May 2017, featuring new galleries and displays for visitors to explore. In addition to the new exhibits, repair work on the historic building was also completed during this redevelopment.

  6. Small local museum with a focus on rope making history of Bridport and fossils. Visited one Tuesday and returned the following day for the rope making demonstration. Excellent staff/volunteers, super friendly and informative which made the visit a pleasure. Their enthusiasm was infectious. Thanks all, really enjoyed the rope making demo.

  8. Oct 27, 2020 · Bridport Museum was founded in 1932 by Captain Alfred Codd as ‘Bridport Museum and Art Gallery’. He wanted the museum to display his own paintings and other works from his collection. Those paintings now form the basis of the Museum’s reserve collection.
