    • Shop for souvenirs at Ledra Street. This wonderful city has a fascinating history, and I’m so lucky I got to hear all about it from Kinga, our team member who visited it while living in Cyprus!
    • Explore the Turkish side on a walking tour. As I’ve already mentioned in the first section, this fascinating city is split into 2 sides: Northern Cyprus, which is inhabited by Turkish Cypriots, and the Republic of Cyprus side, where the Greek Cypriots live.
    • Get lost in Nicosia Old City. This beautiful city has a mesmerizing Old City which is filled with narrow streets and craft shops where you can do your souvenir shopping (especially on Ermou Street) and indulge in some delicious pastries (which is a must-do while in Cyprus)!
    • Admire the architecture of Büyük Han. We’ve crossed the Green Line, and now we’re back on the Turkish side (North Nicosia), where we’ve got a gorgeous attraction that Kinga said should definitely be included on your Nicosia itinerary.
    • Head Inside the Buffer Zone. It’s impossible to head to Nicosia and not be struck by the stark division between north and south. The city is divided in half by the Green Line.
    • Explore St Hilarion Castle and Bellapais. If you want to head further north and explore Northern Cyprus, then this breathtaking half-day tour of St Hilarion Castle and Bellapais is an excellent choice.
    • Troodos Mountains Food Tour. Nicosia is ideally located very close to the Troodos mountains. With that in mind, it’s ideally situated if you fancy a day outside the city.
    • Embrace the Cafe Culture. Cafe culture is alive and well in Nicosia. It makes this city a really special place to be at any time of the day. Head into the Old Town and explore the cobbled, narrow streets, and you’ll find bustling cafes on every corner.

  5. Nov 21, 2017 · Starting a visit to Nicosia at the Cyprus Museum gives me the perspective I need to go forward. The Cyprus Museum is open: Tuesday to Friday from 8:00 – 18:00. Saturday from 9:00 – 17:00 and Sunday from 10:00 – 13:00. The museum is closed on Monday. Admission is free.
