Mar 16, 2014 · Nerima is a centrally located Tokyo suburban neighborhood ten minutes from Ikebukuro (downtown Tokyo) by train. The area's claim to fame is that it's the birthplace of Anime (Japanese animation). Nerima is still home to many top Japanese animation studios today including Toei Animation, AIC, Studio Gallop and Mushi Production.

Very rarely tourists come this far, however it can be interesting to jump there to breathe the atmosphere of a real residential district of Tokyo, with its parks and some surprises for anime and manga lovers.
