Henderson, the seat of Chester County, is located in the central southwest area of the state, about 85 miles northeast of Memphis, 135 miles southwest of Nashville and 15 miles southeast of Jackson. The history of Henderson began in 1857 when the Mobile and Ohio Railroad was being constructed.
Feb 8, 2024 · The Bank of Chester County, a branch of The Bank of Fayette County, opened its doors on February 1, 2024. The Bank of Fayette County was established in Moscow, Tennessee in 1905. Since then, The Bank of Chester County marks the bank’s 13th branch.

In 1889 B. F. McKinney and others organized the Farmers & Merchants bank; then a few years later the Chester County Bank was organized, then followed the Peoples Savings Bank, which gives us at present three of the strongest banking institutions to be found in the state.
