    At Phase 3 of the DfE’s Letter and Sounds scheme, children learn the sounds j, v, w, x, y, z, zz, qu, ch, sh, th, ng, ai, ee, igh, oa, oo, ar, or, ur, ow, oi, ear, air, ure and er. The sounds are taught in sets of four to support the learning and application into reading and writing.
