Don't go to Reed just because you want to go on to further study. People in my grad school cohort came from schools all over the country, and it's better to excel academically at a different undergrad than struggle intellectually at Reed.

Reed isn’t all good of course, but I am glad I went. I think a lot of the pros and cons are similar to what you’d find at other small liberal arts: small class sizes, beautiful campus, academic rigor, etc. but a few things stand out as more unique.

Unlike most small liberal arts colleges, Reed is not in the middle of nowhere. Portland, Oregon, is the greatest city in the world and one of the weirdest too, but most students (especially the freshmen), don't take advantage of it.
