There are 90 places available for successful candidates for 2024 and entry will be by means of the Kent Test (11+). For more details on applying for Year 7 please refer to the Kent County council website – http://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/school-places/kent-test.
Cranbrook requires applicants to take the SSAT. You can take the SSAT at a test center or right from your home. Register at https://ssat.org/ Please have your scores reported directly to Cranbrook Schools. Our school code for the SSAT is 2650. Recent scores for other standardized tests may sometimes be used in lieu of taking the SSAT.
Testing. As Cranbrook School is a selective Grammar School, all students have to undergo testing. We will liaise with you to make arrangements for testing to take place. If you wish to make a late application for a Year 9 day place, your child will be assessed using the Cranbrook School Entrance Exam.
As a State-funded grammar school for boys and girls, we cater for the top 20 -25% of the academic ability range and places are always oversubscribed. Year 7 entry is via the Kent 11+ exam. Year 9 candidates take the Cranbrook Entrance Exam – please see Year 9 admissions page for further details.
