Aug 3, 2019 · If buying an RV, 16 tons is the optimum. Few RVs under 7.5 tons are built for long term use and will not stand up to rough treatment. Under 7.5 is a sticks and staples RV. Even some of the supposedly premium brand heavyweight RVs have the Cummins 5.9 engine instead of the 8.3.

Your right most RV with slides are over 7.5t, although some built on the 18000lb (8.04 tons) workhorse chassis were downrated when brought into the UK. Our Winnie is a twin slide, it has the king size bed and two doubles formed from the drop down table and rock-and-roll couch.
