Jun 26, 2020 · With charm to spare, the unique-looking Akita dog Wasao was a hero in his northern heartland of Aomori. A "tourism stationmaster" and movie-star, he visited and comforted areas devastated by the 2011 Great Tohoku Earthquake. Sadly, however, he passed away in early June after being found in a state of immobility.
