Our story began in 1955, when Bill and Kath Edwards moved up the hill to build Severndale Farm on a green field site and, at that time, the farm had just 76 acres and 30 dairy cows. 1972 saw the expansion of the business, with the purchase of Hanley Farm.
They have been farming at Hanley Farm since 1972 and converted to Organic farming in 1999 because they believed it was a better way to farm. Today they farm over 600 acres with over 240 prize winning pedigree milking cows and 100 cross bred Angus & Hereford Cattle.
Situated just outside of Chepstow, nestled between the beautiful Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, Hanley Farm Shop prides itself on providing high quality produce within a 30 mile radius from our shop, ensuring fresh produce as well as supporting local traders and growers.
Our speciality is our own mature kingdom cheddar produced with milk from our own farm. In addition to our large range of cows milk cheeses we also stock sheep and goat cheeses, suitable for those with a cows milk allergy.
