Oct 27, 2023 · A major heritage project will give people a rare glimpse into the past of one of the country's oldest professional football clubs. The story of how Burnley FC has grown over the years will be laid out in an archive called 'Clarets Collected'. It will launch in Burnley Library on November 3.
Nicknamed “the Clarets” (after the dominant colour of the home shirts), they were one of the founding members of the Football League in 1888. Burnley has played home games at Turf Moor since 1883, after the club had moved from the original premises at Calder Vale.
