At least once an hour and sometimes only a minute or 2 since the prior freeze, Fedora will just start freezing up o… Fedora used to have an occasional short lived freeze/lag that ended quickly but in recent months it has gotten extremely bad.
Jul 11, 2022 · The screen freeze may or may not indicate a full system freeze. Please try sudo dnf upgrade followed by sudo dnf distrosync and see what the result is. After doing the above, please post the output of inxi -Fzx so we can see the full system specs.
What do I about Fedora constantly suddenly freezing? I installed Fedora the other day after getting fed up with Windows' performance on this computer I'm using while I wait for MBP to be fixed. THis has an 11th i3 and 8GB of RAM, my mac has 16GB.
Feb 10, 2024 · My problem is that every few hours my system either completely freezes, or I still can move the mouse around the screen but cannot do anything else. I cannot Ctrl-Alt-F* do drop to a console or anything like that, the only solution is to reboot.
Jul 27, 2022 · Got the DIY edition with everything except the SSD (WD SN850 bought separately) and am running into hard freezes even after doing a clean reinstall of Fedora 36. Seems to happen when I am on the settings page, and the only thing I’ve done in this latest install is update my packages.

Jan 11, 2023 · I'm using Fedora 37 with Nvidia proprietary drivers. System freezes frequently, sometimes in couple of hours. If I'm at the computer by the time of the crash I can catch the full behavior that is always same -- first mouse movement becomes slow then if stops moving at all.
