- By Christ's purchasing redemption, two things are intended: his satisfaction and his merit; the one pays our debt, and so satisfies; the other procures our title, and so merits. The satisfaction of Christ is to free us from misery; the merit of Christ is to purchase happiness for us. We do not need to live in misery because of our sin.

Oct 25, 2023 · Everyone is in need of redemption. Our natural condition was characterized by guilt: “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Christ’s redemption has freed us from guilt, being “justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:24).

- What Does The Redemption Definition Mean For Christians?
The word redeemed or redemption is also a part of the Christian culture and lingo. Many just assume one understands the word and its meaning. But what is redemption and why does it become a primary story theme not only on screen but in our own lives? I turned to my Webster dictionary for a basic definition of the word redemption. Redemption means, ...
With the death and resurrection of Jesus, sin has been redeemed. We do not have to work or atone for our sins. From the cross, Jesus said, “It is finished.” That one phrase encompasses many things — His purpose on the Earth, theOld Testament prophecies, His fulfillment of the Law, and the payment for all sin. In a sense, He “paid if forward,” by st...
This does not mean you can live a “sloppy” life because of this freedom. Redemption from sin is not a license to “do whatever you want.” That would not show gratefulness or an understanding of the One who “paid the debt,” the One who redeemed. Yes, you will sin. Yes, you will mess up. You are human. But if you live your life identifying as a “sinne...
Redemption is one of those things, which often must be experienced to be completely understood. Once the character in a book or movie has redeemed themselves, their story begins to show a renewed sense of peace and satisfaction. They are able to move forward with a feeling of newfound freedom. They accomplished their goal — reparation has been made...
Apr 30, 2019 · The blood of Jesus Christ is both the price God paid to purchase a people for Himself, and the means of liberating those He purchased. A greater price could not be conceived. In giving His beloved Son to redeem sinners, the Father gave His all.
Oct 25, 2023 · Throughout the Bible, God’s work of redemption points to Jesus as the supreme Redeemer of humanity (Isaiah 63:16). Christ is the fulfillment of Scripture’s redemptive theme (Romans 3:25). Although our sins separated us from God, the Father, in His love and mercy, sanctioned the ultimate rescue mission by sending His Son to be our Redeemer.
Redemption represents God’s act of saving and delivering people from sin, evil, and death – it’s a concept woven throughout the Old Testament and also finds its fulfillment in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ in the New Testament.
