  1. Aug 2, 2019 · A physical Bible helps you remember what youve read. This one might be particular to me. When I’m trying to remember something I’ve read, being able to visualize the page helps me remember it: “I know it was at the top of a right-hand page with one long paragraph and two short paragraphs…”

  2. Jul 20, 2023 · Choosing between a physical and a digital Bible is a personal decision. It’s about finding the format that allows you to connect most deeply with the Word of God. Remember, what matters most is not how we read the Word, but that we read it, and allow it to guide us.

    • Mentoring the Next Generation. Parents often lament that their children spend too much time on electronic devices. Yet, many Saturday mornings probably look like this in thousands of homes: Mom and Dad each have a cup of coffee in one hand and are scrolling through their iPhone in the other hand.
    • Evangelism and Witness. When I walk down the aisle of an airplane and see someone with his or her Bible open, I know I’ve found a brother or sister in Christ and comment on his or her great reading material, and vice versa.
    • Avoid Distractions. We all know how hard it is to stay focused while reading our Bible with all the distractions around us. In fact, I leave my iPhone in another room when I’m studying my Bible so I’m not tempted to check email, texts, Facebook, or receive phone calls.
    • Inconsiderate to Speakers and Pastors. Not only is it inconsiderate and rude to browse your phone while someone is speaking, Satan can use your iPhone to disengage you from the message God has given a speaker or pastor.
  3. Jul 5, 2023 · While both options serve the purpose of accessing God’s Word, they present distinct advantages and disadvantages. In this blog post, we will delve into the pros and cons of both the physical Bible and Bible apps, enabling you to make an informed decision about which method suits your needs best. #bgbg2.

    • A digital Bible is always with you. My phone fits in my pocket, weighs less than a pound, and is always, always with me. That means that if I happen to rush out the door in the morning, and I have to do my devotional at lunch, I have it with me.
    • A digital Bible is easy to travel with. I spend a lot of time on airplanes and in hotels for my job. When we’re lucky, my wife and I get to take nice vacations together.
    • A digital Bible offers multiple translations. Remember when I said my study Bible was a KJV, and you scoffed, knowing that obviously NIV/NASB/HCSB/ESV was a better translation?
    • A digital Bible offers multiple languages. Speaking of size and weight, my interlinear Hebrew/Greek/English Bible is even bigger, and weighs a ridiculous five and a half pounds.
  4. May 12, 2016 · I’d encourage you to go through the entire Bible for these 17 reasons: 1. Youll know God better. You’ve heard the expression, “Never judge a book by its cover.” Well, none of us can know God sufficiently without traversing the whole of his very Word!

  6. A physical Bible forces your mind to slow down because it occupies a different plane of thought. The simple fact that it is a different medium means that your mind will process the information differently. When you do this, your brain more readily retains the information.
