Jun 11, 2017 · Often, for me, the ethereal divinity of the Holy Spirit is the most visceral impression of God’s presence. I can feel the Holy Spirit around us when we raise our voices together in prayer and hymn. In meditative prayer I feel and see soothing light: God coming to me as Holy Spirit.
May 17, 2021 · We need the Holy Spirit to live, just like we need air to breathe. The Holy Spirit gives us comfort and peace in our lives, like that gentle summer breeze. He helps us to pray, too.
It’s important to support confident prayer habits in teens, so that, with the help of the Holy Spirit, they carry those practices into adulthood and genuinely cling to them. When encouraging personal prayer, though, it can be difficult to strike a balance between rote recitation and vague “meditation” or “spirituality.”
Some things I think we can all agree on, however, is that the Holy Spirit is the presence of God helping us live a Spirit-filled life. What follows is a way to explain the Holy Spirit to a child of almost any age, with teaching that’s foundational enough to appeal to all Christian denominations.
