Yahoo Groups: effective immediately "public groups will no longer exist, users can only join a Yahoo Group via an invite". Yahoo is now going out of their way to actively impede the archiving... TIL that people still use Yahoo. Joining public groups is still working for me the old fashioned way.

Admins and existing members will retain access but new group members will have to request invites or be invited by administrators to join the group and participate in the discussions taking place.
