The good thing about a computer science major is that it's a notable STEM degree, it's marketable, and it still has that 'wow you must be so smart' impression to a lot of people. Keep in mind that getting a CS degree doesn't mean you have to be a software engineer.

A computer science degree is probably a bit beyond the ability of the average university student. MIT, Stanford, and Harvard are probably more difficult than most CS programs. But none of the above is informative about your ability to complete a CS degree program.
