At the end of Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6, Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher) was demoted — why? Over the years, the 99th Precinct leader has developed a genuine kinship with his squad and vice-versa, so the handful of times he had to leave his post were difficult for all involved.
As we all know, Captain Holt joined the 99 during the pilot which aired in 2013, so obviously he's the last to join. And Hitchcock and Scully were the first ones since they joined back in the late 70s. It was also shown in a flashback that Amy joined when Jake and Charles were already there.
