It was fought on 18 th June 1576 between Mughal army lead by Maan Singh and Mewar army lead by Maharana Pratap. The base camp of Mewar army was setup in Gogunda and the base camp of Mughals was setup in Mandalgarh.
Tragically, in a case of mistaken identity, Man Singh unknowingly killed Maan Singh Jhala, mistaking him for Rana Pratap. When Man Singh returned the next day to resume the attack, he found no one left to oppose the Mughals.
