When Janja and his clan invade the Pride Lands, the Lion Guard drives them back into the Outlands. As a result, Kion loses control of the Roar and its power almost harms her. Worried that he nearly hurt his mother, Kion feels that he should never use the Roar again. Meanwhile, Ono feels self–conscious after the Roar blows off his head feathers.
Instead, he used the Roar to summon the Great Lions of the Past, who judged Scar by unleashing rain on him, extinguishing his flames. As he melted away, Scar warned Kion that he could not escape becoming evil like him. Soon after, Kion lost control of the Roar and accidentally used it on Bunga.
