The SC/360 was a sporty variant of the AMC Hornet that was offered for the 1971 model year. Only available as a two door coupe, the SC/360 was powered by a 245hp 360ci V8 engine, although if the optional "Go-Package" was equipped, output rose to 285hp due to the added four-barrel carburetor and Ram-Air induction.

Original plans called for both an SC/360 and an SC/401, but when AMC discovered that a 401-cid Hornet probably wouldn't provide much of an insurance edge, the 360-cid V-8 alone was borrowed from the Javelin AMX.
