Michal, the daughter of King Saul, was David's first wife. Their marriage is recounted in 1 Samuel 18:20-27. Saul initially offered his elder daughter Merab to David, but she was given to another man. Michal, however, loved David, and Saul saw an opportunity to use this to his advantage.
