Ronald Dee White (born December 18, 1956) [1] is an American stand-up comedian, actor and author, best known as a charter member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Nicknamed " Tater Salad ", he is the author of the book I Had the Right to Remain Silent But I Didn't Have the Ability , which appeared on the New York Times Best Seller list.
Ron rose to fame as the cigar-smoking, scotch-drinking funnyman from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour phenomenon, but since 2004 has established himself as a star in his own right. Over the past nine years he has been one of the top three grossing stand-up comedians on tour in America.
Ron White was born on June 9, 1953, in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada. He grew up in a small town in Alberta, Canada, and attended the University of Calgary. After college, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in stand-up comedy.
