Jul 3, 2009 · simpleton. July 3, 2009 at 9:41 am. As an alternative to NAMA, Morgan Kelly proposes a straight debt for equity swap to leave the bank owned by the bond holders. There is also just nationalisation of course – which could be, as in the UK, a 90% government stake but still leaves the government, if it so chooses, at arms length.
