Nov 5, 2023 · Death and Legacy. On November 29, 1976, Cambridge was on the set of the TV movie Victory at Entebbe, where he was set to play Ugandan dictator Idi Amin. He collapsed and died of a massive heart attack, shocking his co-stars and crew. He was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. He was 43 years old.
