Ash Christian (January 16, 1985 – August 14, 2020) was an American actor, film director and producer. He was the founder of Cranium Entertainment. He wrote, directed and produced Fat Girls in 2006, for which he won Outfest 's Award for Outstanding Emerging Talent, and Mangus! in 2011.

Ash officially formed in 1992, with the help of Ruth Erskine, reportedly having taken the name from the first word they liked in the dictionary. While touring with the American band Weezer, Ash felt the limitations of a three-piece format. This led to the recruitment of a second guitarist and vocalist, Charlotte Hatherley, who had previously been with the band Nightnurse. She was introduced at a few small gigs a week before the band's appearance at the V Festival in 1997. Meltdown and Hatherley's departure
On 29 June 2004, Ash released Meltdown, which reached number five in the UK. At the same time Hatherley also wrote and recorded her solo side project album Grey Will Fade.
